Museum of Contemporary Sculpture Matera (MUSMA)

Palazzo Pomarici, an aristocratic residence built in the 16th century, was chosen as the heartbeat of this project. The renovation process was a delicate balance, preserving the raw, rugged beauty of the rock while creating a sophisticated gallery space. It was a bold decision to fill ancient rooms, once used for storage and living, with experimental and abstract sculpture.
