Flamingos at Molentargius
The expansive, shallow evaporation pools of the regional nature park provide a surreal, mirror-like setting for wildlife photography. The dense flocks of pink flamingos create striking splashes of colour against the blue water and the white salt flats. Using a telephoto lens here is ideal to capture the birds in flight without disturbing them. Early morning or late afternoon light produces the most magical reflections. It is a rare opportunity to photograph exotic birdlife directly against an urban backdrop.
