Crab Feast
This is not just a meal, but a beloved weekly cultural ritual deeply ingrained in the city's lifestyle. Every Thursday night, massive beach tents and local restaurants serve up huge portions of fresh, whole crabs cooked in a rich, flavourful broth of coconut milk, tomatoes, and herbs. Diners are provided with small wooden mallets to crack open the shells, making it a highly interactive and messy dining experience. It is best enjoyed with a freezing cold beer and the sound of live forró music in the background.
