WHY WE LOVE THIS ROUTE

This stroll offers the most accessible and dramatic encounter with the wild Pacific Ocean in the region. The contrast between the sophisticated dining on the esplanade and the sheer violence of the waves crashing onto the beach is completely mesmerising.

WALKER'S FIELD NOTES

  • If the tide is low, look closely at the sand near the rocky headlands; you might occasionally spot a resting seal or sea lion.
  • The wind off the ocean can be surprisingly biting, even on a sunny day, so bring a windbreaker.
