Needham's Point Lighthouse

During the mid nineteenth century, Barbados was a pivotal hub for maritime trade in the Caribbean. The construction of the Needham's Point Lighthouse in 1855 was a strategic response to the increasing traffic in Carlisle Bay, which served as a primary anchorage for ships arriving from across the Atlantic.
